James Graham has just returned to Chicago from the mission field in Africa after a debilitating illness left him in crippling pain and unable to continue his work there as a carpenter. Hoping to recover and return to Africa after his medical leave is over, James spends time with family and friends. When he meets lovely Rachel Ashcroft, James is touched by the sadness he sees lurking in her eyes. He decides to try to bring happiness back to Rachel while he is recuperating.

Rachel Ashcroft lost the love of her life two years earlier in a car accident and has never gotten over his death. The slightest memory or mention of Leo has tears flowing, and Rachel wonders if she will ever be able to move on. When Rachel meets James, the over-worked stockbroker allows him to be friends with her, but is hesitant to get involved any further when he begins to show an interest in her, knowing he will be leaving soon for Africa. What will happen when God has His own ideas for these two hurting souls?

Previously published in 1998, GOD'S GIFT is a sweet romance that will hold your attention and is easily read in one sitting. Award-winning novelist Dee Henderson not only gives us a book of romance, it is also a book of friendship. Interesting characters and storyline will keep you turning pages until you reach the conclusion of this story. Ms. Henderson shows us sometimes what we want for ourselves isn't always what God has planned for us, and we can achieve true happiness if we listen to His voice.
