The fish are biting in Lake Mooselookmeguntic at Camp Wilsons in GOOD CATCH. The bickering and bantering between the gossipy, likable characters offer a distinct ‘bent’ view of a real fishing village, complete with an ornery old dog and romance. Skinny-dipping optional.

Maddie Chilton, a divorcee and ex-PR director of a top-notch firm in Miami, is having issues. First, she lost her job. Second, her coworkers gave her a vacation to Lake Mooselookmeguntic, in the heart of rustic Maine, as a farewell gift. Lastly, after her long, dusty, trying trip here, she notices that there is not a shower in her cabin. Her bathroom consists of a tiny sink, mirror and toilet. What kind of joke is this?

She has been questioning whether she can make it through a whole week here since arriving yesterday. There was the ride from hell in a ramshackle limo and a plane ride over the lake, which scared her witless. In addition, she has met some very dubious people, like Flo, the cranky cook and opera lover, and Wayne, the ever-obliging repairman, along with a wacky waitress with a flamboyant personality and an old crotchety dog. But wait a minute; things just might be looking up! As Maddie peers out her window, first thing this morning, she catches her breath. Out in the lake, she spies a sexy, muscle bound, skinny dipper of the male persuasion swimming! Sigh…! Maybe this trip won’t be so bad after all. She definitely wants his number and maybe a little more…

Fish, black flies and quirky characters populate Tracy Ann Lord’s irresistible and inspirational new novel called GOOD CATCH.  There are always two sides to every coin or, er, story. Plus, don’t count all your eggs before they are hatched. These two phrases fit this story so completely, so I won’t say more lest I spoil the plot. You will love this story from beginning to end! I fell in love with all of the characters including the old cantankerous dog. In addition, the whole lot of them are so charming, you will feel a magical pull on your heartstrings as you read it. Watch out, though, you might get hungry or thirsty as I did, while reading it, with Flo and her delicious concoctions! GOOD CATCH is sticky, spunky and delicious, just like a sweet cinnamon bun!
