Izzy misses not only her access to Jimmy Choo shoes, but all the other things London has to offer when her family moves to a small town in the country. She is even more upset after attending a humiliating luncheon given my local ladies. The only plus side of the whole fiasco is she makes friends with Maddy, who also has small children.

Izzy and Maddy learn they have more in common than young children after tragedy strikes and they form a special bond of friendship. When Maddy discovers an old book of family beauty secrets , the two women embark on a path that neither could have imagined in their wildest dreams.

Annie Sanders is the pseudonym for two female writers. In the author's notes they claim to have wanted to write a different sort of chick-lit book. They have certainly accomplished that with this novel. GOODBYE, JIMMY CHOO explores many issues pertinent to today's women with a balance of humor and poignancy.

Izzy and Maddy are richly drawn characters who are engaging and empathetic. The reader will feel a sense of kinship with them by the book's end. They are strong, intelligent women, but their issues make them all the more endearing. The secondary characters are multi-layered as well.

GOODBYE, JIMMY CHOO is a book you will want to savor over several sittings. I look forward to future novels by this dynamic duo.
