Marci Sky isn’t thrilled about playing substitute bridesmaid for a former classmate. The only upside to the event she can see is that her grandmother was born in the area and she’s interested in uncovering the mystery about the woman’s background. She just never envisioned that taking part in the wedding would land her smack dab in the middle of an insane family.
Rick Kinslee is a man on the edge. He’s the sole support for all his relatives residing at GUNSHOT GRANGE and he’s used to the craziness, but with his cousin’s wedding quickly approaching things are more maddening than usual. He’s captivated by the bridesmaid and her seemingly bad luck as accidents seem to plague her. There’s plenty of sexual tension between them but with him questioning her motives toward him as well as the rest of the family,
Marci’s lost her job, her boyfriend dumped her and her only living relative, her grandfather, is suffering from Alzheimer’s. Felicia’s wedding gives Marci the opportunity to delve into her grandmother’s past and find out about the woman’s background that seems to only go back to the age of three. As an historian Marci intends to write a family memoir and has hope of obtaining a job at an Oregon college. What should be a joyful visit with her college friend turns into a challenge to stay alive as it becomes obvious that someone wants her out of the way.
With all the mayhem going on around them Marci and Rick find time to indulge in their mutual sexual attraction, but what will happen when Marci’s nosing around uncovers some shocking truths about both their families backgrounds? Marci’s come to care for Rick’s unique family - is there any chance she can find her happily-ever-after and be welcomed into Rick’s clan and his heart permanently?
GUNSHOT GRANGE wasn’t anything like what I was expecting - it was much better! With quirky characters and the mixture of modern scenes and flashbacks to Marci’s grandmother’s childhood readers will find themselves drawn into the storyline and captivated by each new scene. Marci and Rick are a great couple with a zest for life and passion for each other. I loved the conversations between them. Even when they’re arguing there’s a sexual tension that keeps a sparkle in your eye as you immerse yourself in this fun and exciting storyline.
