Thea Marshall loves her job at Campbell Construction and she’s definitely head over heels in love with her boss, Lincoln so she’s more than a little confused when the morning after their sexual encounter she’s fired and escorted off the premises without any real explanation. For her this is more than a loss of a job, she’s losing everything that matters to her – her livelihood, her friends, and the man she’s come to love and admire.
Following her firing, Thea’s seeks solace in her family’s cabin while she figures out what to do next. You see, her one night with Linc has resulted in an unexpected pregnancy and while she knows she’ll have to tell him about his impending fatherhood she’s still very angry about the way she’s been treated. Thanks to Thea’s friend, Tim, Linc finds Thea at the cabin and refuses to leave before they hash things out – only if he thought she was going to be thrilled to have him want her back in his life he’s got another thought coming.
Watch the sparks fly in HelenKay Dimon’s BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE. Sexual tension, raw anger, humor, and a touch of mystery abound in this cute story that will have readers diving in and eagerly reading every word – and more than a little disappointed to see ‘the end.’ Thea’s a strong willed woman who isn’t afraid to go head to head with a determined male. Linc’s a man on the edge who knows that he screwed up but is intent on fixing it. I loved the interactions between Linc and Thea though I have to admit I was more than a little confused that he didn’t tell her why she was being fired from the get go – so much drama could have been avoided if he’d been honest, instead assumptions were made and feelings were hurt. On the other hand, it wouldn’t have been nearly as good of a story if it hadn’t been for that conflict.
BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE is the first title in the MEN AT WORK series. However, I’ve checked Ms. Dimon’s website as well as Samhain Publishing’s website and don’t see anything about any upcoming releases for the series.
