James Colfield is thrilled at being offered the position of Senior Editor in a publishing house; not only is it work that he can sink his teeth into, but the position looks tailor made for him. The big plus for the job was that it gets him out of his home town and gives him breathing space to lick his wound from his latest breakup. The only snag to this perfect day is his boss. She is not only the rudest woman he has met, but also the woman whom a few hours earlier was laid sprawled across his lap.

Rushing back from an extended vacation Elizabeth River is asked to not only meet the new Senior Editor but to also show him around. Her surprise is clear when she realizes that the man whom she has been so rude to on the plane ride back home, was not only sitting in her bosses office but would also be her assistance for the next three month.

The two are unable to ignore the attraction between them and sooner rather than later they end up giving in to their desire. But can Elizabeth with all her insecurities, accept James for what he is and not as according to the mold that she has lumped all men into? Can James realize that this might be the real thing and not just a rebound from his last relationship, before the best thing to have happened to him in a long while drives out of his life?  

HARD AT WORK is a sweet romance of heartbreak, insecurity and trust. Throw in a little work place angst and you end up with a book that’s good from the first page to the last.

Elizabeth and James are magic together – they are at such different places and phases of their lives, that it uncanny how well they fit together – give or take a few skirmishes. High level of sexual tension and funny moment make Ms Amour’s HARD AT WORK a pleasure to have read.
