Elgin Collier aka Gillian Shelby is an erotica author and is very popular, her readers love her and her raunchy books.
Elgin is a private person, and that privacy is about to be violated by a stalker.  The stalker starts off with little things like sending Elgin her favorite chocolates and flowers.  Then she is accosted by a beggar in the street, who grabs her arm; she retaliates by hitting him with her briefcase.  But when she has the police knocking on her door informing her that the beggar had been brutally murdered, Elgin knows there is a connection.  Elgin tries to dismiss it as coincidence, but Sheila, Elgin’s publisher and friend refuses to be so complacent and takes matters in to her own hands and hires Harm’s Way Private Investigations and Security Company.

Elgin is none to happy especially when she meets the owner of Harm’s Way, Campbell Harm.  Sparks fly and insults hurled, Elgin thinks he is a dumb Neanderthal and he thinks she is a spoiled bitch and a writer of trashy ‘porn’.  After spending two weeks with security people following her every move and with no further incidents, Elgin believes that her stalker has grown bored and left her.  On her last day with an escort, Elgin attends her weekly hair appointment with the belief that she is free of her stalker.  But that belief is short lived as a car comes at her and her escort from an alley heading directly towards them both.  Pete, her escort manages to push her free, but he is seriously injured. Elgin is devastated.  Before the stalking business, Elgin had been planning a three month vacation at her retreat in the mountains, more now than ever Elgin is determined to get away on her own.  But Sheila has other ideas and wants Harm to go with her, much to the irritation of Elgin. Elgin gives in and decides to make use of her time; scheming.

But the saying goes ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’. Both Elgin and Harm as they learn more about each other, realize there is much more below the surface than meets the eye. Just when they think everything is wonderful, the stalker strikes again.

The insults thrown by the Elgin and Harm will have you entertained through out wondering who will strangle whom first.  When, they do decide to act on their desires, a different kind of spark flies. Elizabeth Stewart keeps the reader in dark as to who the stalker is, with a twist and all is revealed.

HARM’S WAY by Elizabeth Stewart is a sensual emotional entertaining story, which is well worth reading.
