Single mom Dina Gregory has traveled for five days with her ten-month-old son, Dash, to get to his father’s home. When she told Virgil that she was pregnant, he turned his back on her. So she has been raising Dash on her own. Although she loves her baby dearly, she needs help. It is only thirteen days until Christmas and Dina is hoping to get this confrontation over with and get some financial help so she and her son can return home. However, when she arrives, she discovers that Virgil is dead and she comes face-to-face with his brother Ben.
Benjamin Rowe is wealthy financially, but he has no family left. His mother died right before Christmas when he was quite young and his father ended any further celebrations of the holiday. Ben had been married but his wife passed away nine years ago. Since then, he has been unable to get interested in another woman, despite his many opportunities. Instead, he has buried himself in work. He is used to people trying to get money for nothing, so when he hears that there is a woman at the door asking for Virgil, he tells the butler to turn her away, but when he discovers she is carrying a baby in her arms, his curiosity gets the better of him.
The moment Ben lays eyes on Dash; he knows that the baby is Virgil’s. in fact, the baby looks just like Ben. Needing to get to know this one remaining member of his family, he invites Dina to stay. Soon he finds himself so attracted to her that thoughts of his wife desert him. Impulsively, he decides to marry Dina so that he can be a constant in Dash’s life. But he doesn’t count on falling in love with her. Dina is, understandably, a little reluctant to pursue marriage with him, so Ben gives her until Christmas to make her decision. Can he convince her to stay, or will he lose this chance at happiness with her?
An irresistible tale, HAVE YOURSELF A CURVY LITTLE CHRISTMAS, the latest novella in author Sugar Jamison’s PERFECT FIT series, is a fun, sexy, contemporary romance that will leave you grinning. It is sure to engage your holiday spirits as Dina and Ben find ways to start their own traditions of celebrating Christmas. Ben even manages to quell Dina’s fears that she is overweight, as he loves her just the way she is, seeing her as curvaceous, not fat. I enjoyed the fact that the heroine has a substantial figure, rather than the thin women typically featured in romance novels.
Humor, Christmas, loss, healing, romance, love and new beginnings make this an ideal story for the holidays and all year long. I also enjoyed reading the first novel in this series, DANGEROUS CURVES AHEAD, but it is not necessary to read it to understand this story. I look forward to Ms. Jamison’s next book in this series, THROWN FOR A CURVE, due out at the end of February. Why not pick up your own copy of HAVE YOURSELF A CURVY LITTLE CHRISTMAS? I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did!
