Ryan Edward Brun – better known as Rebel, once lived for the magical feeling he received in celebrating Christmas.  All of that changed, when he was injured in Afghanistan.  Now he finds himself in a rehabilitation hospital learning to walk again with artificial legs.  With his future so uncertain, he sinks into a deep state of depression.

Noel Torres has been Rebel’s case worker since he was injured.  She has stood by his side and watched him slowly begin to rebuild his life.  When she sees his mood has taken a downward spiral, she attributes it to the holiday season.

Noel refuses to allow Rebel to wallow in self-pity.  In him she sees a beautiful man so deserving of the best the world has to offer.  Will Noel be able to convince Rebel that Christmas is a time of celebration and for coming together?  Or will he push her away and refuse to let her lead him to the light at the end of the tunnel?

I was highly impressed with Heather Long’s writing style.  Her description of Rebel almost had me believing that he was not fiction.  I fell in love with Rebel and Noel’s story; it is the perfect tragedy to triumph romance.  HAVE YOURSELF A MARINE CHRISTMAS is book 20 of the ALWAYS MARINE series.  This is the first book I have discovered in this series, I had no trouble reading it as a single title, and loved it so well I hope to read more in this series.  For those readers that crave an injured hero, a determined heroine, and a romance that will capture your heart, this book contains all these wonderful elements!
