Dr. Jeremy Nelson is relatively new to Cherryville but he’s settling right in and doing his best to learn more about the town and its inhabitants. He’s particularly interested in his patient, Tracey, who stubbornly persists in refusing to have a biopsy done despite his medical advice. Her stubbornness and refreshing honesty captivate him, but Tracey insists there will be no more dating for her – besides she’s middle age and Jeremy is far too young for her.
Jeremy grudgingly accepts that Tracey isn’t going to have a biopsy done until she’s ready but he knows that lump is going to cause her a lot of difficulties in the meantime. Her insistence that she won’t date is simply a small matter he’ll have to overcome but he’s a smart guy, he can do it, right? Step by step he’ll worm his way into her life – and her son Cody’s - but she’s going to have to put her heart on the line and risk yet another bout of being the subject of town gossip if there’s any hope of a happily-ever-after with the town’s sexy doctor.
Jenna Anderson pens a heartwarming story with her novella HEALING TOUCH. Tracey is extremely easy to relate to – from her snarky comments right down to her fear of undergoing a biopsy – she felt very ‘real.’ I adored her son Cody who exhibits all the normal antics associated with a typical three-year-old. And of course Jeremy and his stubborn yet persistent pursuit of Tracey really adds a delightful feel to this story. Small town grapevines and rumor mills can play havoc on a person’s life and Tracy’s so focused on staying out of that ‘limelight’ that she’s not allowing herself to even give love another try. Throw in the lump in her throat and the woman is an emotional mess but trying to hold it all together for her son. HEALING TOUCH is a sweet, emotionally driven read with plenty of lighthearted humor and a growing romance – even if Tracey is in denial.
