In HIGH NOON prolific author Nora Roberts delivers yet another extremely entertaining page-turner.  I could not put this one down and have the sunburn to prove it!

Police Lieutenant Phoebe MacNamara is an outstanding mom to seven-year-old Carly, caretaker of her mother Essie, whose agoraphobia keeps her from leaving the mansion/prison Phoebe inherited from vindictive Aunt Bess, and Savannah’s top hostage negotiator.  Balancing her career with her personal life is never easy – and gets less so when she meets Duncan.

Duncan Swift is a lottery winner, bar owner, and all around good guy.  The minute he meets Phoebe, as she is talking Duncan’s former employee out of killing himself, he knows he has to get to know her.

Neither Phoebe nor Duncan could ever predict the horror that is stalking Phoebe and how it will change their lives.  First she is brutally assaulted in her own precinct building.  Then menacing messages begin materializing at her house.  For a woman used to working solo and handling everything herself, Phoebe has major problems relying on Duncan despite his attempts to convince her to lean on him.

Fast-paced and alternating among humor, passion and danger, HIGH NOON gives readers a courageous protagonist who must learn to rely on more than her own wits to survive an exhilarating roller coaster ride.  The realistically drawn characters work seamlessly together to create the setting for this thrilling novel of intrigue and passion.  Fans of Nora Roberts will not be disappointed by HIGH NOON.
