When Sarah Scott heard John Markum was being released from prison she was scared to death. Five years ago Sarah spent months trying to convince a jury that he was a mad man, but in the end they believed his story over hers and she ended up spending four years in prison for a crime she didn't commit. Now Sarah was back in her hometown of Summersville but the people in town where not about to forgive or let her forget who she was or what she did.

Sarah's best friend since childhood, Karen was the one person who believed in Sarah's innocence. Karen had just gotten married to Reid Hamilton when Sarah came back to town. As much as Karen loved Reid she hated his brother Blake just as much.

Blake Hamilton is rude, arrogant, and seems to hate most women. Blake is an ex bronco rider who now owns a honky tonk club in San Antonio. His divorce left him bitter and resentful so he made a vow never to let another women get that close to him again.

When they all go to a fundraiser one night and John Markum shows up as a spokesperson, Reid asks Blake to take Sarah and hide her at a hotel in San Antonio. But Blake takes her to his house instead for a night of explosive passion that neither can seem to walk away from.

As hard as Blake and Sarah try to push each other away their passion can not be denied, but when Sarah's past comes back to haunt her will Blake realize his feelings to late.

There were a few times while I was reading HONKY TONK COWBOY that I wanted to throw it against the wall. I wanted to smack Blake upside the head more than a few times and I wanted to shake Sarah for putting up with him. But there was something about this story that pulled me in and made me keep reading, and by the end I was hooked. The writing team of Barri Bryan has done an awesome job in making love blossom between two characters that truly deserve it.
