Steve Jaax is a well-known artist whose popularity has increased over the years. He loves his notoriety and uses it to every advantage he can. But he also has an innocent view on life. As a younger man and running from his ex-wife, he ended up in a small Minnesota town where he met Jenny, a young girl who turned his career around when he sculpted her head out of butter. Twenty years later when he is asked back to the small town to be Jenn’s co-marshal at a parade with his sculpture, he jumps at the chance to finally get revenge on his ex-wife. Only Steve was thrown back by the sizzling attraction that he still feels for Jenn. Will Steve let go of his revenge and convince the beautiful Jenn that he loves her and can make her happy? Or will his devious plot ruin his only chance at true happiness?
HOT DISH is a contemporary tale that will have you laughing at the antics and feeling warm inside from a beautiful love affair. Ms. Brockway pens a tale of intense passion, mystery and compelling characters that will have you turning the pages to find out what will happen next. Jenn is a lovely lady whose sole purpose in life is to avenge the hate she feels for the small town she was thrown in. But now she is faced with the choice of destroying her parent’s home town or quietly allowing it to proceed the way it is. She is witty, sassy and extremely stubborn. Steve is a charming character who looks at everything with awe, except for the revenge he wants on his ex-wife. I enjoyed the way some of the characters grew throughout the pages and wanted to slap a few of them along the way.
