Cassie has two jobs, one is doing bookkeeping, the other is working nights as a disk jockey for a local radio station. Too bad she had to resort to subterfuge to get her dream job because now she has no one she can tell about it. She never in her wildest dreams thought her on-air character would become so popular.
Nathan Taylor turns on the radio to drown his sorrows after a disastrous date. He never expected to hear the sexiest voice he’s ever heard in his life. He was hooked, and writes an article for his employers to publish about her. He never expected it to get the coverage it did, but the article was so popular that now his boss expects him to get an exclusive interview with her. Easier said than done.
Failing at every attempt to contact her, Nathan resorts to using a disguise. Moonlighting as a French cabdriver, he attempts to catch the "Voice in the Night" either going to or from work. He is unsuccessful much to his frustration. Especially since he is by the radio station constantly, as he has a regular fare he takes to and from work that is just around the corner. And his regular fare is finding her French cabdriver entirely too attractive.
HOT UNDER THE COLLAR is one of those books that kept me laughing at the antics of the characters. At the same time you are just hoping that they find a way to get together in spite of their self-imposed secrets. A highly amusing and entertaining story, this is a quick read that will likely cheer you up in a hurry. Ms. Hill has a knack for taking the mundane and adding a dash of excitement to it without losing the reality, plus adding a good dose of humor besides. I was thoroughly delighted with this introduction to her work and will be looking forward to more of her books in the future.
