Force's I SAW HER STANDING THERE is the continuation of a great series by an author that is fast becoming one of my favorites. Threads are picked up from her past stories and woven throughout and there are hints given for future storylines. The descriptions of the scenery in Vermont is vivid and breathtaking and Fred the Moose makes another visit or two. The descriptions of the homes and businesses whether in Vermont or New York made me feel like I was there.
The Abbotts are a closely knit family that run businesses together, have meals together and go to each other for support and friendship. There are ten kids, their parents, their grandfather, many friends and animals. The sugaring storyline was interesting especially since each chapter started out with an entry from Colton's sugaring journal. We were immersed in the making of maple syrup through not only Colton's eyes but also Lucy's as he explains the process to her when they visit his mountain home. Watching their interactions hit me on different emotional levels since they started off not thinking their attraction could go anywhere given their different lives and how and where they lived them. Colton always tried to keep a positive attitude that things would work out but he had to continually remind Lucy to live in the present. We got to meet her family as well as some of her business associates to form a whole picture of Lucy and her life. The romance and loving burned up the sheets and it was endearing to see how Colton always put Lucy and her feelings and needs first. There were a few happily ever afters and nice closure especially since the epilogue gives us an inkling of the next story.
The bonus short story at the end, LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS, featuring Colton and Lucy along with Will and Cameron on a camping trip was a fun story with lots of playfulness and feelings. The preview of the next book in the series, AND I LOVE HER left me wanting more and I look forward to reading it as well as future books in the series.
