I Love Claire

Claire Everett, divorced mom of four, is soon to become Mrs. Greg Lewis.  But after finding THE perfect wedding dress--a Vera Wang, no less—Claire quickly realizes the $5,000 price tag is just a wee bit out of her price range.  Since Claire’s writing career has been less than productive, she has to find a way to earn enough money to buy her dream gown.  Before long, Claire is walking dogs and doing other odd jobs, but will she have enough to pay for the dress before the big day?

What should have been an exciting time in Claire’s life becomes more and more stressful as her wedding day approaches.  Between problems with her kids, Greg asking her to postpone the honeymoon so he can do a summer interim pastorate, and a dog walking client’s son’s advances, poor Claire is about to go crazy.  With Greg spending so much time away finishing up his seminary training, Claire becomes flattered by the handsome Jerry’s attentions and gifts.  She knows she should turn him down cold, so why isn’t she resisting the temptation of accepting his offerings of love?  Will Claire even have the need for a wedding dress once Greg finds out about Jerry?

We first met Claire in LEAVE IT TO CLAIRE as she was struggling with her ex-husband’s remarriage to Darcy and problems with her four kids.  Next up was CLAIRE KNOWS BEST in which Claire suffered from panic attacks and in which she fell in love with Greg, who was a teacher at the time.

Tracey Bateman has now presented readers with the third novel in the CLAIRE EVERETT series, I LOVE CLAIRE, which is a novel that simply is chock full of faith, family, and fun, fun, fun.  Claire is so easy to care about and relate to that she takes on a life of her own as you read.  Her family and friends are much like any normal middle-class people trying to live life the best that they can.  It is with a gentle hug and a fond farewell that I close the cover on the final book in the CLAIRE EVERETT series, but hopefully we’ll be seeing her character back in a future offering from Tracey Bateman soon.
