Suddenly a man, Brick Donnelly, turns up while Jessie and Jacob start to make a success of the business, wanting his money that Arthur owes him. He is shocked that Arthur is dead but he still wants his money or the family will have to pay. One way or the other. Jessie is ready to give Brick the parlor but Brick decides that Jessie can run the place and together they will find out what happened to the money Arthur borrowed.

Brick Donnelly only wants his money back until he meets Jessie and Jacob. He likes what he sees when he looks at Jessie and he is surprised at how much Jacob knows about business. He starts to fall for Jessie. He likes Jacob. Suddenly someone blows up the parlor. Why? Who would want to do such a thing? Can they uncover who did such an evil thing before they strike again? Brick only wants to protect Jessie and Jacob from someone who must want them dead. Could he stop the would-be killers before they strike again?

ICE CREAM IN THE SNOW is a great romantic story. It is filled with suspense and drama. The interaction between mother and son is great. The characters are great. Diane Castilleja has written a super story and the tension between Jessie and Brick that began building from the very first meeting leaves you waiting to see what will happen between them. I love the cast and the plot, and it will give you a warm feeling from the beginning. This is a great book to read for the summer. Thank you Ms.Castilleja for such a great read, and I will be looking forward to reading more of your books.
