Gabrielle has been having problems with her son, Trevor.  He has been going downhill for the last few years since his father’s death and is now getting in trouble at school.  Reverend Jacobson has recommended putting Trevor in the New Beginnings Program. The program uses therapy along with working with horses. The two combined works wonders on troubled teens. The only problem is that Wyatt Blaine is the person who runs the program. His wife and son are the ones who were killed by Gabrielle's husband. How will Wyatt or Gabrielle cope with the difficult circumstances?

IF WISHES WERE HORSES is an adventure about guilt, self-recrimination, making a new life, love of family, forming new bonds, and romance. Mr. Barclay pulls out ‘all the stops’ in this compelling novel that takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride.  At times I laughed, and then I cried, but  through it all I couldn’t stop turning the pages. If you don’t see this novel on the bookstands, order it. You will not be sorry.  I think very highly of Mr. Barclay’s writing and IF WISHES WERE HORSES is any example he should hit the best seller’s list across the country.  A great read!
