When Hildy Caldwell receives an invitation to her high school reunion, she is distraught. Voted the Girl Most Likely to Succeed, Hildy is still living in the hometown she grew up in and she’s put on a few extra pounds. Hildy is not married, in fact, she still dreams about her high school boyfriend, Mike Amante. She teaches English and while she enjoys her job, she is not sure if it qualifies her for the Girl Most Likely to Succeed status. In short: Hildy is in a rut and she wants out.

She decides to rent a beach house on the Jersey shore for the entire summer in the hopes she may find love and a new attitude about her life. Instead, what she finds is a genie in a bottle! And that genie is about to lead the love of her life to her, along with a whole lot of trouble in the form of a jealous fiancée and an angry criminal on her trail.

Lucy Finn tackles love, comedy, criminals and a little bit of magic in IF WISHING MADE IT SO. Hildy is an interesting woman. She is content with her life but she is definitely looking for a little more spice in it. She always thought great things would happen to her so with the arrival of her high school reunion, she is disappointed. Nonetheless, Hildy has a good attitude and does not just sit and let life pass her by. She is seeking an adventure and that is where the comedy and the love come to play. The genie, Antonius Eugenius, brings a lot of flair to this story. Then there is the love story which takes several twists and turns. Lucy Finn has created a likeable heroine, an interesting premise, and a story that shows that dreams can come true, even in the most unlikely of circumstances.
