Julian is the mysterious man who recently bought the Gideon Mansion. Rachel has searched through public records and found little information on his background, just his name. It’s the night of a full moon, the night she’d be called into his embrace. Ever since she received the invitation to the All Hallows Eve costume party six months earlier, she’s eagerly awaited each full moon. Julian will summon her with a gift and missive that are left outside her door. It’s an event she eagerly awaits. Rachel’s never heard Julian’s voice, words are not needed between them. Perhaps it’s the mystery or excitement of having such a mysterious lover that keeps her going back for more. Or, maybe it’s the way he signs his notes, also shrouded in mystery, “IF YOU DARE . . . ”
IF YOU DARE . . . is an interesting look into a mysterious relationship through the eyes of the young woman involved. It fascinated me because Rachel would have to go purely by instinct to ascertain Julian’s needs or personality. Rachel would also have to be emotionally strong in understanding her own needs to be able to become involved in a relationship such as this. I admit that I’m intrigued by the mystery surrounding Julian. I want to know who he is, where he comes from, what does he expect of Rachel. Inquiring minds want to know. Maybe we’ll find out more in another book. Adrianna Dane does a fabulous job engaging the readers’ minds with ideas and thoughts that will flutter about long after you’ve finished reading.
