Jamie Cooper-Howe deeply resents her ex-husband’s decision to walk out on their marriage and marry a ‘younger woman.’ It will be challenging to be civil to Craig for the sake of their daughter’s wedding, especially since her ex-husband’s new wife will be in attendance. As luck would have it, there’s a younger man present who captures her interest and restores her libido.
Mark Bentley is the best man at Ashley and Wes’s wedding. While he came to the wedding figuring he might hook up with one of the bridesmaids, in no way did he anticipate falling in lust with the mother of the bride. Because his flight had been delayed, he doesn’t have much time before the rehearsal to make his interest known and he’s definitely excited to learn that the most exciting woman in the room is unattached.
Jamie can’t help but make snide comments about her ex-husband and his ‘little trollop’ even though she doesn’t regret the divorce. Ashley’s asked her mother to attempt to be civil for the wedding. She’s going to do her best to grin and bear it but once she meets Mark her resentment of Craig takes a backseat to the all-consuming attraction. Jamie and Mark are only interested in having a good time while they’re together. Craig may not want Jamie anymore but once he realizes that his ex-wife has something going on with the best man his jealously and possessiveness begins to show - sometimes the best revenge is simply going on with life without the baggage from the past.
IMPULSIVE PLEASURES is a fun quick paced romance that holds readers captive to the drama unfolding on the pages. I loved Jamie and Mark’s heated secret encounters and couldn’t help but laugh at Craig’s reaction to his ex-wife’s indiscretion with a younger man. KyAnn Waters captures all the emotional intensity that goes on with a wedding, a secretive affair, and an unreasonable jealousy with delightful results.
