Dixie works in the mailroom of Ridgecroft Industries.
Even though the pay is good, Dixie is struggling just to survive.
There is no time for dating, sheet-ripping sex or anything other remotely pleasurable - a fact which her co-worker Carrie encourages her to change.
Rumors are flying amongst the staff of Ridgecroft Industries about the return of the prodigal son, William Ridgecroft.
Dixie believes that he’s a spoiled brat and is having trouble believing that he’ll be taking over the reigns of the company.
She hasn’t met William yet but she’s concerned about the changes that may occur within the company - after all, she can’t afford to be laid off.
William ‘Bastian’ spent the day shadowing his father and then hit the company gym to work off the tension that’s built up during the day.
When he leaves the building, he’s wearing well-worn street clothing.
It’s been a week since his last visit to Incognito and he decides to stop by there for a drink and to let his friends know that he’s all right.
That plan takes a backseat though when he hears what he believes is a woman being assaulted.
What he finds is a car in desperate need of repair and a woman wielding a monkey wrench as she hurls insults at the bucket of bolts
Bastian’s immediately charmed by Dixie’s open, honest and caring nature.
He’s accustomed to women falling all over themselves to date him, but it’s obvious that Dixie doesn’t have to slightest inclination as to his true identity so he chooses to keep that information from her for now and just allow her to get to know him as a person.
After spending a little time with Bastian, Dixie decides to do something she’s never done before - invite him to her home for a one-night stand.
Only afterwards he decides he wants more than just one night but insinuating himself into her life won’t be easy.
And there’s the little issue of him not divulging his true identity.
Madison Layle and Anna Leigh Keaton present readers with the latest addition to their INCOGNITO series: DESIRING DIXIE.
After reading CHARMING CARMEN I really wanted a story for Bastian and definitely wasn’t disappointed.
I loved getting to know Dixie and really enjoyed her sense of ethics and attitude.
I had expected Bastian to be more fun-loving and carefree then what he was based on what I’d read in the last book, but I really liked the intelligent, loving man he turns out to be.
It’s very obvious that club Incognito and the BDSM lifestyle are a big part of who he is but there’s so much more to the man then just his sexual needs.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading the books that make up the INCOGNITO series.
The characters are delightful and a lot of fun to get to know.
