Sunday started off as a bad day for Elissa Towers, she has another flat tire and her daughter, Zoe, needs to get to a party. Her new neighbor, Walker Buchanan, stops to help her out. A nice enough gesture, but he seems to have smeared dirt on a brand new tire that he bought so it wouldn’t hurt her pride. She won’t take it as a gift from him so she bakes him a pie and tries to hash out a repayment schedule

Walker Buchanan is an ex-marine on a mission to find the girlfriend of Ben, the man who saved his life. He has too many issues at the moment to fall in love but he thinks he can be friends with Elissa. She is easy to talk to and Walker finds himself sharing his feelings with her, something he hasn’t done with anyone else.

Walker and Elissa have both sworn off dating, but they can’t seem to keep their hands or lips off of each other. Walker also seems to be falling in love with Zoe and tries to keep his distance, but the little girl has already found a special place in his heart. Can Walker and Elissa work through their past problems and find happiness?

IRRESISTIBLE is a magnificently written story that has you holding your breath hoping for happiness for both Walker and Elissa. The characters are created with such great detail that you feel like you have made new friends. Susan Mallery has shaped a fabulous series that starts with DELICIOUS. The stories can stand alone but the characters are interwoven within each one. You won’t want to miss any of the Buchanan’s books. The series is a definite keeper on my shelf.
