Money, marriages and women aplenty, Rory Randall was a loving family man but was known as a serious charmer and trickster. He loved all his wives but he wasn’t hitched for long when another woman would catch his eye. In short, he is a wanderer. Oh boy…not good for the women he left behind.
Love is lacking in the three Randall sisters’ lives. They have had their share of boyfriends but they just can’t seem to hang onto a man. Is it due to emotional problems? Plus, two of the sisters never got to live in the Nantucket home for long before Rory’s last wife got the first two sisters evicted from the house. They all have sentimental ties to the house though, so each one wants to live there. Just not with the other sisters in residence. Who eventually winds up with the house? ISLAND GIRLS is cheeky, snappy, witty, exasperating and seriously poignant, much like a rollercoaster ride, with all the difficulties of family life. Nancy Thayer perfectly portrays family issues with a deft touch. When three sisters, from three different marriages, have to spend three months together in a summerhouse just so they can inherit it from their deceased father, big fights, big developments and big surprises happen to each of them. Life blows in big changes along with some startling confessions. Ms. Thayer does a fantastic job of keeping the reader clueless until the very end. One twist leads to another. I absolutely adore this book! ISLAND GIRLS is sensational! A hoot and a half!
