Joshua Lye has been hired to set up the computer network at Bandicoot Cove. He had no way of knowing that Sienna, his high school crush, would be one of the guests at the resorts soft opening, but he couldn’t be more thrilled to see her again. As a teenager she’d been beautiful and popular and he knew he couldn’t sully her reputation. She was a ‘princess’ and he was the ‘pauper.’ A romance between them would have never worked back then, but now… well, they’re all grown up and it’s obvious the spark of interest has turned into a raging inferno.
Sienna and Joshua thoroughly enjoy reconnecting after all these years and even engage in a heated discussion about why he turned her down for the Year Twelve Formal, but it’s the sexual tension between them that really makes things interesting. They’re quick to act on the lust raging between them and enjoy playing out their wicked fantasies. However, their idyllic time together comes to a jolting halt when her ex-fiancé Ben arrives determined to win her back.
It’s obvious Sienna has feelings for both men and Ben is smart enough to not push her to choose one over the other right off the bat, instead he suggests they form a ménage for at least the night so Sienna can decide which man she truly wants. Sexual satisfaction is to be had by everyone but in the end someone will be alone – that is if the men don’t let their raw jealousy and passiveness overrule their common sense and end up killing each other first.
Jess Dee’s ISLAND IDYLL is a cute, fun read with a serious undertone. Sienna’s broken engagement is a sore issue with her because her ex chose his career over her needs – you get the sense right off the bat that Joshua would always put her needs first. Yes, work is important but not when it consumes every moment of your day. I adored how honest Joshua is about both his past and his desire for Sienna. He really puts himself out there and it’s so very sweet and sexy. Ben’s a nice enough guy but he’s made some serious mistakes where Sienna’s concerned. Jess Dee infuses passion, compassion and some lighthearted fun into this storyline so readers become enchanted with the characters and their situation and in the end emotionally invested in how Sienna handles the situation between the two men.
