Luke Hanover is a San Francisco Detective who has had some trouble at work and has come to Lucky Harbor for some peace and quiet. His grandmother left him the house that he has been renting out. It is supposed to be empty but instead he finds an almost naked woman in his kitchen.
When Ali turns around and finds what she thinks is an intruder in the house, she throws a bowl at his head but misses, luckily. She then finds out he is the owner and feels doomed. Things go from bad to worse when the local police come to her door to arrest her for stealing money from the auction for the new senior center. The money was in the town manager’s desk, her ex-boyfriend, and Ali went into his office when she took back the pottery she had made for him and left him a nasty note. What is even worse is that the whole town thinks she is guilty. So starts the interaction between Luke and Ali that leads them both in directions they had sworn not to go.
Will Ali be arrested for the theft? Will Luke find the peace and quiet he is looking for to put his life back on track? Find out by reading this very funny, suspenseful story of two souls who try to come together as one. I loved the love scenes in this book; they are very inventive and steamy. A real page turner until the end.
