Nicholas' IT TAKES TWO is a quick reading contemporary romance that I didn't want to put down. The storyline was vintage Nicholas doing what she does best - weaving a strong storyline with characters I would love to have as part of my family or as my best friend with lots and lots of heat. What could have been preachy - the discussion of Iz's fibromyalgia and how she and Shane decide to handle it - but it wasn't. Instead we have a realistic portrayal of how someone might deal with their diagnosis and also how their family and their boyfriend come to terms with their loved one having a lifelong illness. Not only that but seeing how they disagree on how best to handle things was so real - whether it was Shane or Emma doing the arguing. Watching Shane mull over all he's learned and have it sink in while seeing how he tries to stand up to Iz and let her know he's there for her one hundred percent was powerful even when she fought him every step of the way - which was also an honest reaction since Iz was definitely in denial and hoped it would just go away. I loved that we were reunited with the Dixons and the Bradfords and all their friends. There was heartache, tears, laughter, adventure, highs, lows, friends, family, romance, lovers and lots of love. There was wonderful closure that tied up the loose ends but also gave a totally unexpected happily ever after that all I could do was sigh!I have read several of the books in THE BRADFORD SERIES and now the COUNTING ON LOVE SERIES and I can't wait to read the next three books in this series - BEST OF THREE, GOING FOR FOUR and UP BY FIVE. I can only hope that Nicholas continues to weave strong stories while giving us lots of love and romance. I love how Nicholas has intertwined the two series and definitely want more.
