Jamie Creed is reclusive and suspicious of nearly everyone he meets. A bearded man with shaggy hair, he has lived alone on his mountain for years. Although he occasionally shows up in town to help people, he nevertheless guards his privacy zealously and doesn't allow anyone to get close. But Jamie "knows" things, and his moral strength and character won't allow him to sit idly by when his actions could help innocent people. He knew Faith was on his mountain, in trouble and looking for him. He doesn't trust her for an instant but he'll do what he can to help her. Why has she shown up in Visitation? Is she trying to lure him out of hiding?
Faith knows Jamie. Although he was unaware of it, she was involved in his past. She knows what his life was like and she knows how badly he was hurt. But Faith used to fantasize about Jamie and the years haven't changed her feelings. She knows Jamie is attracted to her, knows he wants her. Faith also knows that Jamie is suspicious and has no reason to trust her. Can she convince him to help her and her daughter? Can she break through the barriers Jamie has erected around himself and win his heart, mind and body?
JAMIE is an excellent conclusion to the Visitation series! Questions that have been building through multiple books are finally answered. The secrets of Jamie's past and his abilities are finally revealed. Faith is intricately involved in that past in ways readers wouldn't imagine and there are surprises throughout the story. Everyone from the Visitation series makes an appearance, including Alyx Winston and Deputy Scott Royal with their unfinished business. JAMIE stands alone but don't be surprised to find yourself scrambling to find the rest of the series if you're new to Visitation. I'm sad to see the series come to an end but I couldn't ask for a more satisfying conclusion. Very highly recommended!
