Lucas believes Joanna wants nothing to do with him. All gifts of apology he'd sent had been refused and all attempts to communicate are met with silence. He'd even flown back to Minneapolis to try to see her. He has no idea of his ex-executive assistant's part in his wife's anger with him or even that his wife had been to Hong Kong and hadn't known about his wife's pregnancy or miscarriage. He wants his wife back and is willing to meet her challenge to achieve his goal of getting her back and in his bed!
Will Lucas and Joanna be able to trust each other enough to discuss the events that lead up to their mistrust in each other? The challenge Joanna imparts allows them to get to know each other in ways they hadn't before. And Joanna gets to act out a few of her fantasies in the process.
Some people are just meant to be together and I got the feeling from the beginning that Lucas and Joanna were two headstrong people that while they were very much in love with each other, neither was willing to give up their career to "tag along" after the other. You could sense the confusion in the couple. Even though they'd been separated by the deceit of others they still loved and needed each other. I loved the way friends conspired to get the couple to meet one more time before they agreed on the divorce. The challenges Joanna threw down and reading how Lucas handled each one was great. I found myself smiling several times while reading this book! Definitely a keeper!
