One day the phone rings and it was her best friend, Lori Morgan Peters. At first Olivia was not going to accept the call, but the 'inner voices' made her pick up the phone. Olivia and Lori talked, and it seemed that time had never passed. Olivia missed Lori and Lori told her about the class reunion and the invitation that had been sent, but Olivia knew she would not attend; she knew Lori was disappointed. Olivia knew that the town library had a whole section on her, keeping up with her achievements and this made her re-think her reasons for not attending.
Olivia thought about really missing Lori, the town of Summerville, and John Riley, then decided to face her demons by going to the reunion. A water pipes burst at the Community Center and Lori asked John if they can hold the reunion at his place and he reluctantly agrees not knowing that Olivia will be attending.
What happens when John sees Olivia for the first time in fifteen years? Does Olivia believe the fact some people say 'you can never go home'? Can you rediscover friendship? Can you ever find true love?
JOHN RILEY'S GIRL really touched me deeply. I laughed, I cried hard, and I rejoiced. Inglath Cooper must have been following me around and writing about me without my knowledge. This is absolutely one of the best stories I have ever read. I loved the passion; I loved the arguments; and of course, the making up. JOHN RILEY'S GIRL is not to be missed.
