Johnny Huston has been in love with his best friend Krissy since third grade. She just isn't aware of that fact. Krissy doesnt do long term relationships so he’s opted to remain friends rather than risk losing her by becoming lovers. Their friendship has remained true for many years but it’s about to undergo a major change - all because Krissy wants a baby.

At only twenty-five years of age Krissy Taylor is facing a monumental decision. She suffers with endometriosis and it's advancing much faster than her doctor anticipated. She’s going to need to have a hysterectomy, but Krissy desperately wants a baby first and she doesn't have time to worry about forming a 'relationship.' She simply wants a sexual partner who forgets to use a condom.

Johnny and Krissy have a unique relationship. Not only are they the best of friends but they share a close-knit friendship with Shelby and Ryan, and Casey and Brent - the perfect six-pack. Several times a week the group would get together just to hang out. It's during one of their Friday night get-togethers that Johnny notices Krissy's distress. When she bails early, Johnny goes with her and after providing the requisite shoulder to cry on he's stunned to learn that her feminine problems have resulted in a 'now or never' situation. To complicate the matter, Krissy wants his help in selecting a good father for her baby. She's not looking for a happily ever after, just a 'wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am' that results in a baby. Johnny's horrified that she's even asked him to help find a sperm donor. He's dreamed of having a life with Krissy - kids, a house, marriage, the works - just not right now. He's got a year left of law school before he'll be ready for that sort of commitment, so how can he possibly offer suggestions for ideal 'daddy's' when that's the one position he truly desires? Krissy realizes that Johnny's everything she could want in her baby's daddy but sex would just ruin their friendship and she doesn't want to lose him. Her idealistic plan of picking a good-looking man for baby making hits a few snags when she discovers the only man she could imagine being the father is Johnny. Will making a baby together ruin their friendship? How will it affect their friendships with the rest of the six-pack? Krissy and Johnny thought that becoming lovers would ruin their friendship but maybe it will make it even stronger, especially if he can give her the one thing she really wants - before she's unable to conceive.

KyAnn Waters brings to life an emotional story full of realistic characters who possess believable problems and worries. While I was drawn to this story by the title, JOHNNY LOVES KRISSY really captures all the angst and emotions that women go through when faced with such a cataclysmic decision. In most cases we think we have all the time in the world to achieve our dreams but life is short and sometimes you have to make monumental decisions before you're truly ready. Krissy is brave, bold, smart and daring and I absolutely adore her. I'm even jealous of her friendship with Johnny - most of us never get so lucky as to have a friendship with anyone where we can discuss anything (and I do mean anything!). Johnny's caught off-guard by Krissy's revelation and his emotions can really be felt by the reader as he's caught between wanting to help Krissy in her quest for daddy material and the desire to claim her for himself. Through the whole story we're presented with the comical goings-on of the six-pack and the obvious affection that they all feel for each other. This is a wonderful story full of love, passion, and a bit of bittersweet emotion that will keep you riveted to the pages.
