Chris can't stop thinking of Eliza, his sexy secretary. Every moment is spent thinking of her. When he finds out that she has a daughter, he is angry. He doesn't date women with children as a rule. Eliza wins the poker game and her three nights are more than Chris bargained for. He can feel his control slipping, afraid he will do something to hurt Eliza, he pushes her away. Octavia, Chris's sister, tries to convince Chris that he doesn't carry the same anger that their parents did. Will Eliza let Chris hide behind his fears, and risk losing him forever?
JOKERS WILD: THREE NIGHTS by Lena Matthews, had me crying for the young children who had such a rotten life, and laughing at Jocelyn's "Shark Bait" and "Gill". Though Chris had gotten out of the abusive relationship with his parents, and was raised by two people who loved him and his sister, he still let the fear of turning out like his father rule his life. Can Eliza and Jocelyn show Chris that he is nothing like the man he feared the most? This book touched my heart, and is a keeper for my favorite's shelf.
