All seven-year old Jordie wants is a computer, well that and a new dad but he has pretty much given up on the new dad idea. All the other kids in second grade already have computers, Jordie is sure he is the only kid in his class who is still not online. When Jordie’s best friend Neil gets a computer Jordie knows he has to find a way to convince his mom to get one too.
When Jordie overhears his mom telling a friend that she has no clue how to work a computer he decides to talk to his teacher, Mr. Jenkins. Jordie really likes Mr. Jenkins and he knows all about computers, but Jordie learns something else about Mr. Jenkins, he is a widower. After hearing that Jordie comes up with a brilliant idea that just might make both of his wishes come true.
JUNIOR MATCHMAKER is a short but very sweet story. Jordie quickly stole my heart and I was rooting for his plan to work right along with him. Susan Lyons's newest short story is a definite winner!
