Anthony Dante is co-owner with his brother, Michael, of the family restaurant, Dantes. His police officer wife passed away one year ago. Now he spends every Sunday, since his wife’s death, at her gravesite.
Vivi Robitaille is getting ready to open Vivi’s, a French bistro, across the street from Dante’s. She and her half-sister, Natalie, are partners. She is the chef and Natalie is providing the financial backing. Wanting to become involved in the neighborhood, Vivi moves near the bistro. Her snobbish half-sister is not thrilled about this. She wants the bistro located in a more upscale area. When Natalie starts pinching pennies, Vivi worries if she will actually have a bistro after all.
Michael and the rest of Anthony’s family try to get him interested in life outside the restaurant again. When Vivi is introduced to Anthony, the two clash and are soon conducting cooking contests to determine who is the best cook. Can two chefs have a life together outside the restaurant? Is it still too soon for Anthony to have a new relationship? Will his love for his dead wife be too much of a problem for Vivi?
