Erickson's KIDNAPPING HIS BRIDE is Rafe and Cat's story but other family members are brought in or mentioned so I felt that I was reconnecting with the Renaldis. Their families contracted at an early age for them to marry when they got older. Each expected it to happen but didn't want it to seem to be what they wanted. Both of them were playing the cat and mouse game but neither one was pleased with the outcome. Watching their whirlwind trip to New York made me feel I was there. The descriptions of New York and Italy were vivid. The emotions Cat was feeling as a result of her family's dysfunction was sad to watch but seeing her happiness grow was heartwarming. There were family, friends, sorrow, tears, heartbreak, happiness, laughter, freedom, romance and love. There was a nice happily ever after and closure especially since the last chapter took place three months later.
This is the second book in the Renaldi Family series and I hope there are more since there are two more siblings in the Renaldi family that should have their own stories. I look forward to reading other books by Erickson outside of this series since I have not had the pleasure of doing so.
