The stars were finally aligning for Zoë Conrad, at least it seemed so professionally. When she first joined Secret Traveler as an evaluator, she was hoping to be embarking on the ideal life of travel and adventure. Instead, she now knew the inner workings of the low budget motel industry. And it would figure her explorations limited her within the United States. How she fared with her current Fiji assignment would decide whether she is ready for the A-team, visiting the most exotic and luxurious locales overseas, or if she would be doing a tour of airport accommodations for the rest of her days. But just when she’s geared up and ready to tackle Fiji, wouldn’t she know it – not twenty feet away from her lies a dead body in a hammock. Right then and there she knows - the stars hate her.
Sean “Breeze” Guthrie, owner of the Indigo Inn, is feverishly working on preparing his bed and breakfast for its opening weekend. Having lost his fortune to a gold digging ex-wife, the lavish inn is going to be his ticket back to the financial respectability he is so accustomed. So if that meant working three days straight without sleep, it would be a small price to pay. Still, passing out face down on a hammock is not how he wanted to welcome the inn’s first guest; nor is kissing the beautiful blonde who so conveniently broke his fall when attempting an impressive leap off of the hammock. The funny thing is, from the smile on their faces, a complaint is the last thing one would expect from either of them.
Neither Zoë nor Breeze is prepared for the sexual energy that emanates from the other. As ill-equipped as they found themselves, it is only a matter of time before their passion reaches fruition. And as neither cares for a relationship, it would have been a match made in “weekend” heaven.” But distancing herself in a sexual relationship is not that easy for Zoë, and oddly enough, it’s even harder for her to break away after Breeze is accused of murder. Her gut tells her he’s innocent, but proving it will be infinitely more difficult than ignoring the little voice in her head that hints he may be capable of murder.
KILLER TEMPTATION is a light-hearted, frolicking ride of sex and suspense. Zoë is our pushy, stunningly beautiful heroine with a golden heart. Sean is our benevolent, ruggedly handsome rogue with a billionaire’s ambition. Both come to the table with an intellect, wit, and sexual energy that make them a force to be reckoned with. Together, the journey to exonerate Breeze will leave readers thoroughly entertained and inwardly chuckling at the clever repartee.
Ms. Bruhns knows her craft well, and has penned an impressive story that is fun, fast-paced, and fraught with juicy love scenes.
Readers won’t be able to resist the lure of KILLER TEMPTATION.
