Jesse's trip goes along fine until her car breaks down on the side of the highway.  With her cell phone out of service, she hangs a white bra on the side of the door.  When no one stops to help her, Jesse has just the idea.  She puts on a tight shirt and short shorts, and almost immediately a tow truck stops.  Jimmy Angel, the driver, tows her car back to his shop.  He says it will take a week or two to fix her car, and Jesse is devastated by the news.  How will she make it in time to break up the wedding?  Jimmy, being the chivalrous hero, offers to let Jesse take his car while he fixes hers.

While Jesse is trying to make plans on how to win Josh back, her thoughts keep turning to Jimmy.  He was so sweet to her, and she can't stop thinking about him.  How is this going to interfere with her reunion with Josh?  And, what is Josh going to think when she shows up to win him back?

Libby Cudmore has written an interesting story about one woman's journey to learning and finding out what true love is.  I liked the secondary characters in ALWAYS THE BRIDE, too.  Jesse's best friend, Beth is quite a character.  I liked the heroine, but Jimmy was my favorite character.  He is definitely an old-fashioned kind of hero.  He's a southern guy who doesn't mind helping someone out in a bind, and he's handsome to boot.  Jesse definitely has an interesting adventure in ALWAYS THE BRIDE, and I enjoyed discovering the outcome.
