Lovers Donovan and Isaac are perfectly happy with their relationship so they’re more than a little disconcerted when Carmen lets them know about their impending fatherhood. Oh sure, they know that only one of them actually fathered the baby but to them it’s theirs. A baby on the way is enough to scare any man but for Donovan, who’s already dealing with a teenage son, it’s downright petrifying. For Isaac, it’s surreal. He’s just discovered his bisexual desires and has no idea how he’ll handle becoming a father.
Donovan and Isaac were just hoping that Carmen wouldn’t regret their one night of indiscretion. Not once did either of them consider that she might conceive a child – but on the other hand it’s not the worst thing that could happen, is it? Granted, Carmen is in the most difficult position. Pregnancy will make dating difficult for her but the guys are willing to support her in any way she needs. As an added bonus, since there’s she’s already pregnant and they all agree the sexual experience between the three of them was infinitely satisfying then there’s no reason not to continue.
There’s more to their troubles than an unplanned pregnancy though. Donovan’s son, Ryan, is a typical angry teenager and won’t take kindly to this sort of intrusion in his life. Donovan’s father doesn’t approve of anything he ever does and bringing a baby into his life at this stage won’t set well. And Carmen’s parents are under the impression that she made a huge mistake divorcing her ex-husband, learning that she’s having a baby and not sure who the father is isn’t the sort of news any parent wants to hear. There’s no doubt this trio will have a lot to overcome but with the love and support of each other they can do it – and do it in style.
WHO’S YOUR DADDY? is a brilliant story about an unplanned pregnancy and how it affects the lives of everyone involved. There was an attraction between Carmen, Donovan and Isaac before but they’d kept it muted so it didn’t affect their friendship. They all have issues that develop because of their new-found relationship but it’s nothing they can’t handle – and it’s a whole lot of fun to watch them each mature into the strong people they were meant to be. The one character I really love is Isaac’s mom. We could all use a mom who’s so supportive and loving no matter what you do. Lauren Gallagher’s writing is fun, endearing and packs an emotional punch with characters who will touch your heart and situations that you’ll remember long after you’ve finished reading.
