Film directing is Kay Aaronson's current career. She has embarked on many different careers to find a niche where she belongs. When she finally gets her chance to direct a music video, she heads to her estranged grandmother's hometown, Tobias, Wisconsin. When the leading man quits in the middle of the filming, she needs to find a replacement quickly. In walks Rob Dalton, the perfect stand-in for the leading man.  With the leading lady being skittish about the kiss at the end of the filming, Kay steps in to show her how the scene needs to be played out. She is not prepared for the electricity that sparks between her and the new leading man, especially since Kay has vowed never to love another man. She has endured too much pain and loss from her family's secrets to allow her to love anyone.  Can Kay let go of the past and let Rob's love heal her heart?  Or will she let the only man she will ever love walk away?

Rob Dalton is a financial wizard facing possible prison time because of the unethical dealings of the company for which he works. He has decided to go back home to Tobias, Wisconsin and figure out what he is going to do about his job troubles. He is organized, a planner and obsessed with pros and cons. When he finally concedes to be the fill-in actor for the small filming company, he is completely captivated by Kay. However, with Rob's recent divorce, he has vowed never to fall in love again. Rob finds Kay to be irritating, infuriating and enchanting. After learning her secrets and fears, he knows that it will not work out between them because of her beliefs and loyalties.  But Rob knows he has to do the right thing in regards to his job. Will Rob convince Kay that his love can heal her heart? Or will he walk away and spare her the pain of his uncertain future?

LEAST LIKELY WEDDING is a beautiful romantic story wrought with high emotions, intense sensuality and witty humor. Patricia McLinn did a wonderful job of combining two very different and strong people and turning it into an enchanting happily ever after love story. My heart went out to Kay for the loss of love by her family and misplaced loyalties. I wanted to slap Rob for his lack of ability to "live for the moment."  However, I cried when their two hearts finally soared together. LEAST LIKELY WEDDING is staying on my shelf.
