Rebekah Stoltzfus had been paralyzed as a young child in a freak accident, and was now confined to a wheelchair.  As a Pennsylvania Amish woman, Rebekah was expected to marry and have children, but thinking of herself only as a burden, she felt as if no one would want to ever marry her.

Daniel Beachy has long been in love with Rebekah, but she thinks it’s really her cousin that he’s interested in courting and not her.  When he finally gets up enough nerve to let her know his feelings for her, Rebekah thinks it’s really her greenhouse business Daniel is interested in and not her personally.  Will Daniel be able to convince Rebekah it’s truly her heart he wishes to own?

LOOKING FOR A MIRACLE is the second book in the re-released four-novel series, BRIDES OF LANCASTER COUNTY, by Wanda E. Brunstetter.  Newly-expanded and with added features such as Daniel’s point-of-view, this story is sure to capture the reader’s heart as she reads of Rebekah’s search for a miracle—not to be able to walk again, but instead to become independent.

Readers first met Rebekah as a child in A MERRY HEART (book one in this series) when she was paralyzed, and it is now thirteen years later.  Feeling sorry for herself, and sure she’ll always be a burden to her family, Rebekah is determined to become self-supporting.  I thought this was a very interesting storyline, especially for an Amish romance, and found it to be quite well-written.  Will Rebekah be granted the miracle she wished for? You’ll have to read this book to find out for sure.
