Lisa Turner’s life is turned upside down when she receives word that her Army pilot husband Matt's helicopter had been shot down and that he was killed in Afghanistan. Now she finds she must be strong for her young son Kyle.
Lisa finds she has many decisions she must make. One of the major ones is where she will move. Living with Matt on base in Fort Campbell, Kentucky is not a long term option. She considers all her possibilities, but none of them appeal to her as much as staying in their loving home.
Chuck Carson is a United States Airborne Ranger, and he is Lisa’s divorced next door neighbor. His heart goes out to Lisa and her young son. Lisa is determined to not get involved with another man in the service. Will she stand by her vow when she finds it harder to resist Chuck’s charm?
LOVING AN AIRBORNE RANGER has all the potential to be an award winning book. Unfortunately, as a reviewer I found myself searching for elements that were not present. I was confused at to why Lisa made the decision to live on base when she knew eventually she would have to move. I felt she went on her day to day life activities instead of making decisions for her future. Chuck was a hero that didn’t’ really offer any background except his military rank. Without any background substance, it was hard for me to identify with him. Overall, this is a quick military read, which presents a sense of loss and the ability to have a second chance at love.
