Loving Ben

Kat didn’t believe she could handle seeing Ben again.  Six months earlier, his disappearance from her life, nearly shattered her.  That fact that his vanishing act coincided with her sister’s disappearance only made matters that much worse.  Another painful reality was that she had fallen in love with her sister’s fiancé. The one night they spent together was a cherished memory for Kat, but the guilt of betraying her sister was almost more than she could bear.

Now her editor wants her to interview Ben.  Before she can stop herself, she refuses; then logic sets in and she realizes this is her job.  How can she face him after what he has done to her?  Kat’s editor acknowledges what a trying time she’s had with her sister’s disappearance, but he can’t possibly know what it’s doing to her to have to face Ben again.  There are things that Kat never got a chance to tell Ben, because he left.  This one secret could change what was between them forever.

Ben regrets agreeing to do the interview almost immediately.  He regrets that decision even more when he realizes that it’s Kat who will be interviewing him.  What Ben most regretted was the way he walked out on Kat.  He thought it was what she wanted.  When Anna disappeared, Kat wouldn’t let him comfort her, she wouldn’t even let him touch her, and so he just left.  Now…seeing her again, all the emotions he thought were in the past are once again welling up inside him; he can barely resist the urge to touch her.  The only thing stopping him is the pain and agony he can see in her eyes.  He can feel her torment and he can’t really blame her.  Anna and Ben had been engaged, but Kat was unaware it was not a traditional engagement. She thought she betrayed her sister; if she let him do nothing else, he could at least ease her mind on that.  Ben was extremely grateful when Kat gave into her feelings for him.  To hold her, to touch her, to love her, was a chance he thought he’d never have again.  Ben can sense that Kat is still keeping something from him and he reacts very badly when he realizes what it is.  Time and time again Ben has hurt her, but this may very well be the time that he has gone too far.  He’ll do anything to have Kat’s forgiveness and to regain her love.

‘Loving Ben’ grabs you from word one!  This story is filled with love, passion and even a bit of mystery.  Jan Janssen brings her characters to life with excellent details and a stimulating story.  This is a timeless tale of love, loss and of finding one another again.  This was my first story by Jan Janssen and I can guarantee it will not be my last!
