Gabe Hamilton is the very epitome of control. As the company’s closer he maintains ultimate control of every aspect of each project – from sealing the deals to ensuring that the resorts and hotels are exactly as he envisions them. His personal life is approached with the same sort of intensity. Before engaging in any relationship with a woman he lays down a set of guidelines that dictate exactly what is expected and if she doesn’t agree he’ll walk away. Normally this isn’t an issue but he’s about to go after the one woman he’s been attracted to for years – Mia, Jace’s younger sister.
Mia Crestwell has secretly had a crush on Gabe since she was just a teenager but with a fourteen year age difference and being the younger sister of his best friend, she believes her fantasies about him are doomed to be just that – fantasies. All that changes when he offers her a job as his assistant at HCM along with the codicil that she accepts that he’ll own her – body and soul. Mia’s well aware of Gabe’s dominant nature and his sexual tastes and it actually turns her on, but being his dirty little secret and tied down to a contract, even if it isn’t actually legally binding, is unsettling. While Mia’s heart’s engaged and has been for years, it’s entirely possible that she’s merely another conquest for Gabe, so how will she ever be able to walk away – and what will happen if Jace ever finds out about their illicit arrangement?
Prepare yourself an ice bath and settle in for the duration because Maya Banks definitely ensures that readers’ bodies are going to go into spontaneous meltdown with her newest release RUSH. Gabe’s decision to pursue Mia might seem risky because of his friendship with her brother but I think that just adds to the sexual tension – and believe me, this book has sexual tension practically radiating off the pages. While Gabe might be the one holding the contract and controlling their erotic encounters he’s definitely not as in control as he’d like to think he is, Mia’s got his heart in knots – and that terrifies him. Fortunately she’d never betray him but that doesn’t make the whole game of love any easier. RUSH is an unbelievably heady read that snares readers’ attention and keeps you engrossed in the pages until the very end – and then you’re left eagerly anticipating the next story in this exciting new trilogy.
RUSH is the first title in Maya Banks’ new trilogy, BREATHLESS. Keep your eye out for the other releases (the dramatically beautiful covers of water, ice and fire are hard to miss!)
Jace Crestwell’s story, FEVER, is slotted for release in April 2013
