Ryan Carstairs has his reasons for purchasing Erika’s grandmother’s painting – and it has nothing to do with a fine appreciation for art. He’s well aware of Erika’s mission to retrieve all her grandmother’s artwork and views bidding on it as his opportunity to finally have Erika in his debt – and he’s going to take full advantage of it too.
Erika and Ryan’s relationship didn’t end under the best of circumstances and Ryan would like nothing better than to rectify the situation but Erika refuses to even talk to him. After outbidding her, Ryan confronts Erika and tells her that he’s willing to give her the painting in exchange for her spending forty-eight hours with him. They’d shared a unique relationship so when Erika read about his engagement to another woman in the paper she felt betrayed – understandably.
Erika loved the relationship she shared with Ryan. There was something so freeing in her submission to him. She felt that their relationship was perfect up until she found out about his engagement and now she wants nothing to do with him. Ryan has tried to explain the situation to her but Erika’s unwilling to listen; now he’s taking a major chance and praying she wants the painting enough to accept his challenge.
Michelle Houston surprised me with this short yet highly entertaining read. Ryan and Erika’s relationship has so many twists and turns that I felt drawn into the storyline and couldn’t wait to find out what happened between them – or what would happen next. Ryan and Erika have unresolved issues which neither of them has dealt with and obviously needs to before they’ll be able to move on. A BID FOR LOVE allows readers into the loving Dom/sub relationship Ryan and Erika shared and gives you a better understanding of how imperative trust would be between them.
