KISS ME, KATIE surrounds you with the music scene - bands that are headliners as well as opening acts, megastars along with musicians trying to make it big and their treks from city to city while riding on tour buses to get to each show.

Tillery's KISS ME, KATIE is the story of a band trying to make it big while opening for a megastar and his band.  But megastar Blake is not what I pictured and doesn't fit the stereotypes.  Katie manages to hold her own when she and her band get their big break but that's not what makes her special.  She manages to stay true to herself and to her beliefs while immersed in the whirlwind of the music business no matter who comes knocking on her door.  Katie showed her strength throughout and some of the talks she had with Blake showed not only her strong character but also how she wouldn't let anyone deter her from the path she set for herself.  She had so many layers to her but that enhanced her beauty.  Blake was more down to earth than expected even if he didn't always make the right personal decisions. The chemistry between them was immediate and only wavered when they didn't trust themselves and their feelings. KISS ME, KATIE had family, friends, sweet romance, heartache, misfortune and ultimately love.  I loved that the title of the book made it into the storyline in such a poignant and unexpected way.  There was wonderful closure but it wasn't what I expected - it was so much better.

I have not read books by this author before but if this is her caliber of writing she and her books will be added to my TBR pile.
