T. J. has spent the last three years in isolation to keep the woman he loves safe from harm. As long as the enemy keeps thinking that Daniel Conner is dead, then Mattie “Mac” MacCormack is safe. Fate is not on T.J.’s side, however; Mattie unexpectedly shows up unconscious and hurt in the lake near his house. Have the bad guys found out T. J.’s true identity? Is Mattie safe? All these questions can’t be answered because when Mattie finally wakes up, she doesn’t remember her own name.
MAC’S MAN took me on a reading path that actually surprised me. More suspense than romance, I found myself not wanting to miss a thing that happened in this story. T. J. was a savior to Mattie and the fact that she fell in love with him as T. J. made me smile. Unsure of her safety, T. J. was adamant that she be protected and I fully understood why. He had sharp instincts when it came to danger and as the smoke cleared, I found myself almost sweating with anticipation as to whether or not Mattie would ever forgive him.
MAC’S MAN by Elaine Charton was released last September from Triskelion Publishing.
