MACK'S WITNESS is a quick read at only one hundred and twenty-eight pages but there were a lot of adventures packed into it.  Deirdre and Mack didn't immediately hit it off but there were fireworks just the same and it only got better.

Jackson's MACK'S WITNESS, Book 2 in THE HEARTS AND HEROES SERIES was not at all what I expected. The story was set in Ireland where Fiona and Wyatt are to be married.  Their story was told in the first book in the series, WYATT'S WAR, so this was a nice surprise.  We also got to meet Wyatt and Mack's parents along with the rest of their siblings, Ronin, Sam and Abby, and I hope their stories will be told in future books. In addition to the fun of the bachelor and bachelorette parties and the wedding there were a lot of twists and turns to the story due to a murder that was committed in the hotel where the wedding guests were staying. There were family and friends, sadness, sorrow, happiness, laughter, tears, angst, fear, murder, injuries, romance and love.  There were a lot of Irish words in the dialogue and the descriptions of the locations were vivid and made me feel like I was there. There was some closure with a happily ever after in the offing that wasn't what I expected but an epilogue would have been nice. There were some loose ends since we weren't given any information about the murder.

Jackson is an author who kept my interest piqued while reading her first two books in this series so I will be adding her other books to my TBR pile. I hope that some of them will be longer in length with better closure.
