Cameron’s interest in love takes a sudden change when she meets Ryan Lambert, an unhappily married indie movie producer who is married to Mandy Lambert, the spoiled daughter of wealthy, smash hit producer Hamilton J. Heckerling. Cameron fascinates Ryan. Though he has never cheated before, that could change, except for one thing – she is now dating his best friend Don Verona, the famous talk show host who became infatuated with her when she repelled his advances.
The third couple involved in this story is Phil Specter, the successful screenwriter who is in love with Mary Ellen, his retired movie star wife, despite his philandering. Mary Ellen only wants to rekindle her film career even though it is against her husband’s wishes. Phil is also friends with Don and Ryan.
Intermingled in this story is the tragic story of a young Russian woman named Anya. After she loses her family, depraved men and women use her as a sex slave. She is forced from one tragic circumstance to another. Though you may wonder how she fits into the story, it will all come together.
MARRIED LOVERS is a magnificent tale of three couples, sex, marriage and power. Best-selling author Jackie Collins does a brilliant job of bringing everything together at the end, tying up all the loose ends and answering all the questions. Readers cannot help but feel sympathy for Anya, who led such a tragic life. Ms. Collins brings these characters to life. Once you start reading this book, it is impossible to put it down until you finish the last page. MARRIED LOVERS has found a place on my ‘keeper’ shelf.
