MAYBE THIS TIME is a terrific, super fun story! With family secrets, a crazy housekeeper, two very odd children, and her fiance’s voice in the back of her mind telling her this is all a ploy by North to get her back, Andie has her hands full. As the weeks go by, she slowly gains
Alice’s and Carter’s trust, but nothing she says or tries can make them leave the house and move to
Columbus to live with their Uncle North. As she falls more in love with the children, she realizes that her life with North isn’t as over as she had hoped.
With her customary sassy wit and energy, Jennifer Crusie weaves a tale that is part love story, part horror novel, and part legend. I found myself laughing out loud, and I was unable to put the book down for more than a few minutes. These are the kinds of characters that will stay with me for a long time to come. Jennifer Crusie’s first solo novel in six years has been long awaited and is worth every second of that wait! Exuberant, light-hearted and touching, MAYBE THIS TIME exceeds all expectations.
