Meet Me in Scotland

A forty-eight second video dispelling the 'fantasy' of happy ever after was all it took to ruin marriage therapist Emma Castle's career. It had not taken long for the clip to go viral. As far as Emma was concerned, the video contained the truth but she never meant it to go public like that. She could only imagine how her mom, a leading sex therapist, and her dad, Hollywood's marriage counselor, will react. Emma knew she wasn't cut out to be a couple's counselor, but she had allowed her parents to guilt her into it. Needing a respite, Emma accepts her best friend Claire's invitation to come to Gandiegow, Scotland. But when she arrives, she discovers that Claire has sent the one man Emma never wants to see again to pick her up.

Dr. Gabriel MacGregor has sown his wild oats in the past, but now he has finally figured out what he really wants; to settle down and find himself a warmhearted Scottish lass. Normally, Gabe is easygoing, but there is something about Emma that gets to him. Seeing her again tempts him, something he doesn't need.

Emma has been able to avoid Gabe since her friends, Claire and Dominic's, wedding, but now that she is in Gandiegow avoiding him is out of the question since he is the doctor in the small town. It doesn't take long before Emma finds herself falling under his spell again. But now Claire and Dominic, who run the local restaurant, are experiencing their own problems. Claire is desperate to have a child of her own, but Dominic doesn't feel that they are financially ready to take that step yet. So Claire gathers support from the town, pitting them against her husband, but the result is fewer customers coming into the restaurant, which only makes Dominic's argument more significant.

Meanwhile, Emma and Gabe find themselves picking opposite sides as heat flares between them. Will they find happiness together while they try to help their friends, or will Emma lose the man she has come to love? Will she return to her career or is life leading her in a different direction?

Being transported to the modern day Scottish Highlands in author Patricia Griffin's delightful new book, MEET ME IN SCOTLAND, the second in her KILTS AND QUILTS series, proves to be a true delight. I was overjoyed after reading Ms. Griffith's first novel entitled TO SCOTLAND, WITH LOVE, so I could not wait to read this one. This second novel is just as fantastic as the first. The secondary characters add further small town appeal to the story, especially the group of quilters. Plus readers are given a bonus; this story involves two couples instead of one, and their journey as each discovers their own happy ever after.

After reading the first novel in this series, I could not wait to get my hands on this one and it more than met my expectations. Relatively new as an author with her KILTS AND QUILTS series, Ms. Griffin has proven to be an author to watch for.

Quilting, the Scottish Highlands, interesting characters, small town dynamics, humor, romance and love intertwine in this delightful contemporary romance that is sure to win your heart as it did mine. This book can be read as a standalone, but after reading it, I am sure you will seek out the rest of the series, including TO SCOTLAND WITH LOVE, as well as the novella THE LAIRD AND I, which appears in the book MUST LOVE HIGHLANDERS. Readers will also want to watch for Ms. Griffin's upcoming novel, SOME LIKE IT SCOTTISH, due to release in July 2015. But don't take my word for it. Pick up a copy of MEET ME IN SCOTLAND today and discover this truly gifted author for yourself!
